What we believe

We are characterised as a church that chooses not to settle. We see the Church as a force for good, set on constantly moving forward in God (Psalm 84:5-6).Our interest goes way beyond the meeting of our own needs. We look far beyond our present borders and recognise no ethnic, racial, national or territorial limits.

What we believe

We love, we serve and we bring peace in the places we live and work.

It’s hard to imagine, but it’s possible for love, beauty and goodness to fill our lives. It’s what God promised at the beginning, but our selfishness took over and got into everything: our families, businesses, friendships, communities. We needed a rescuer and God sent Jesus. He rescues us, restores us and His love, beauty and goodness can fill our lives, connecting us to others and we become part of rescuing His world with Him.

You can join one of our groups specifically for those wanting to learn more of God’s way and our response to Him.

We subscribe to the Evangelical Alliance’s basis of faith.

Sunday services

We meet at 10.30am at Mayfield School, Dagenham RM8 1XS each Sunday. The service is also livestreamed on YouTube each week

You can expect 90+ minutes of worship, teaching and testimonies. You can request people to pray for you at the end of the meeting. Its quite informal. Do stay around for a coffee and chat in a local home too.

Teaching

We have assembled a considerable back-catalogue of Bible teaching, not just from Sunday mornings, but also embedded in the many courses and trainings that we offer. Consider our challenging series looking at Hot Topics in society and other series which include teaching on Finance and Handling Conflict

We also run a variety of short courses each half-term. Focused on training and equipping, these are designed to help us live out our faith in everyday life.

Children and young people

We do a lot for, and with our children and their families.  We want them to have a personal relationship with Jesus; hearing from God, learning from Him, responding to Him, and serving Him.  We prepare them to take a vital role within their generation – a force prepared, equipped and resourced to reach their peers in a way only they can.

We raise God-connected young people who will stand firm in their own faith. Impassioned young people are mentored to look out and lead those who are younger. They are a fantastic bunch.

Leadership

Working on the principle that the one who catches a vision and heart for something is often also the one to champion it, we have often been called a church full of leaders! In all areas of church life someone will be responsible.

We also have a Core Team who meet regularly to pray and have senior oversight of the church. They are supported by a group of Implementors who embed the direction provided by the Core Team and ensure the smooth running of the church.

In the community

We believe passionately in making a difference in the places we live and work.

For many, this is in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge. This takes many forms, but flows from a conviction that we are to be salt and light. In addition to the activities of the church,  we birthed separate charities to incubate and extend our reach locally. Numerous initiatives are run through these charities, seeking to bring social justice and salvation to our communities.

Building friendships

Biblical friendship, based on loving God and loving each other is a foundational value. Maintaining deep, real, accountable friendships is really important to us – and we prefer messy networks to encourage one another, rather than structured groups. We believe this is central to the sharing of life and developing of faith.

We help everyone to connect in. If you feel that LifeLine may be the place for you, we’ll invite you to join one of our Foundation Courses, so you can find out more about our values and what we believe before you fully commit.

Prayer

Praying together is an essential part of our church life. In addition to praying with friends, we have a number of prayer groups:

Intercessory Battle Groups contend for particular issues that God highlights at different times. A weekly Governmental Prayer time focuses on hearing what God is saying and prophetically declaring it into being.

Once a month the whole church gathers together to pray.
